Dr. Aktan is a distinguished Professor of Finance, accomplished researcher, and successful entrepreneur. He is the Founder and CEO of Gitman Capital Advisors, a Montenegro-based fund management and financial consultancy firm.  Concurrently, he serves as a Research Fellow at the Euro-Med Research Business Institute’s Emerging Markets Group, focusing his research on emerging capital markets, global investments, corporate valuation, and energy & security issues.

Dr. Aktan’s academic contributions are significant, with publications in highly regarded journals such as the European Journal of Finance, Journal of Forecasting, International Review of Economics and Finance, International Journal of Forecasting, International Journal of Business, and Journal of Property Investment and Finance. His early notable career achievements include serving as a Private Banking Portfolio Manager at QNB Finansbank, a Company Director at Trade Information Centre UK Ltd., and a Business Development Director at Goldium Group. In these roles, he spearheaded initiatives across Türkiye, UK, and Mexico, demonstrating his ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical applications in the markets.
